Welcome to

Artifex Australia

Established in 1978, Artifex Australia offers traditional craftsmanship and outstanding workmanship to create the finest Australian Made furniture. A trusted wholesaler in the industry for over 40 years, we manufacture all products in house, using Australian materials and components.
From sustainable jarrah frames and Australian made plywood to local manufactured foams shaped in-house and our own metal workshop creating legs and frames, we are one of the only furniture manufacturers in Australia to do everything under one roof and take great pride in all pieces that leave our facility.
Thank you for visiting our website and in turn one of our retail partners, but most importantly, thank you for supporting Australian Made and keeping Australians employed.

Our History

Artifex Australia has been a family owned and operated business since 1978.  The original owners, Nick and Diana Moniodis, decided to retire at the end of the 2014/15 financial year and spend more time with their family.  After their lifelong commitment to the Australian manufacturing community Nick and Diana handed over their legacy to Michael D’Andrea.

From the 1st of July 2015, Michael continued delivering the same service and quality, supported by his wife and three children.  Michael’s experience will help bring new life, new ideas, and new designs into the business.

Artifex, the Latin word meaning craftsman, will continue to be on the forefront of design, using only the highest quality raw materials and employing Australian craftsmen to create and deliver fine furniture Australia wide.

Michael has high expectations that Artifex will deliver quality products on time and will continue to be of great service to the Australian fitout community.  With your ongoing support, Artifex will continue to employ Australians manufacturing furniture locally.

Meet the owner

Michael has over 25 years’ experience in furniture and over 15 years in owning businesses. Michael commenced his furniture career as a cabinet maker, manufacturing furniture for commercial and residential use.  During this time he also studied furniture design, creative writing, small business, and moved into several sales and business development roles for high end furniture companies around Western Australia.
Michael is passionate about all things furniture, especially how to manufacture furniture that will last a lifetime with the lowest possible environmental impact, which is a major priority as a Dad with a young family.  Michael lives in Perth and spends most of his time running Artifex Australia, while also making time for his family and other passions, such as  soccer and mountain biking.  He often travels to other states to visit our partners and establish new relationships.  So ask him when he will be in your area next!
